Scandinavian

GSD offers three modern Nordic languages (Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish) from a beginning to an advanced level, as well as Old Icelandic language and medieval Icelandic literature, and a full range of Scandinavian literature and culture courses.

The Scandinavian Languages & Finnish B.A. aims to provide students strong skills in a foreign language, to introduce them to methodologies of linguistic and literary analysis, and to develop intercultural understanding.

In addition to the major, there are minors in Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, and Swedish.
